Abstract

Quantized vortices are topologically stable entities of spatially macroscopic phase-coherent systems and occur notably in superfluid, superconducting and Bose-Einstein condensate systems. In this talk I will discuss recent experimental and theoretical results of dynamic quantized vortex states in the newer exciton-polariton condensates. The broad parameter space of this condensate (adjustable effective mass, density, particle lifetimes) and the presence of a thermal reservoir which interacts with and feeds the condensate by a continuous stimulated scattering, permit a very rich and unique variety of vortex properties and phases.
