Abstract

We investigate the possibility of implementing a given measurement with linear optics and arbitrarily fast feedforward based on the continuous detection of photons. Our results demonstrate that for implementing some important projective measurements, in principle, unit success probability may be approached even without the use of expensive entangled auxiliary states. I will discuss this topic in detail and also briefly introduce recent activities at NICT toward an implementation of collective measurements for practical quantum channel coding.
