Akitada Sakurai

PhD student, NII

National Institute of Informatics, 2-1-2 Hitotsubashi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan #101-8430

Akitada Sakurai is a PhD student at the Global Research Center for Quantum Information Science at NII. He received a master’s degree at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT), where he worked on numerical calculations of atoms and molecules to verify the standard model in particle physics, under the supervision of Prof Bhanu Pratap Das. He has experience with high-performance computing using TUBAME 3.0 at TIT. He did a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and was part of the Fluid Engineering Laboratory at Meiji university. In the Lab, he developed a device to measure the size of small particle using a laser.

Research Interests

Akitada's current research interests focus is among others on:

Non-equilibrium quantum systems such as Floquet systems.

Quantum phases and phase transitions.

Many-body systems for quantum technology applications.
